44Two Directors

44Two Sports and Social Club came to life in November 2007 when it was purchased from Lloyds of London.

The aim of the new owners was to provide a sporting and social environment for the people of Medway, with particular emphasis on families and children. A complete overhaul of the existing social hall was the first item on the agenda, which was quickly followed by the introduction of new changing rooms within the Sports Hall, and an extra function room being created within the same area. The main bar, which is now named Hessy's Bar, was also renovated and an extra meeting room was added at this stage.

Two of our Directors need no introduction to many of the people who live in the Medway area, as they have both been part of Gillingham Football Club for a number of years. They are of course Andy Hessenthaler and Nicky Southall. Andy has recently returned to Gillinham as assistant manager under Peter Taylor and is continuing his coaching role with Soccer Elite at the same time. Nicky having spent a total of thirteen years at Gillingham as a player, can now be seen almost daily at 44Two where he is combining running the Sports Hall with a coaching role also at Soccer Elite

The other two directors are local business men Tony Osborne and Michael Shiers, who both have other established businesses in the Medway Towns.

All of our Directors can be seen at the club at various different times, especially Michael Shiers, who now incorporates being Bar Manager into his busy daily routine.

Both Michael's wife (Kim) and Nicky's wife (Clare) work in our very busy office and can always be contacted Monday to Friday on our main number 01634 388706.

Membership is not necessary at the club, but as a member you will be offered a 10% reduction on Bar Food and Drink and a reduction in hall hire. If you have any queries at all about 44Two please contact Kim and/or Clare who will be more than happy to chat with you.
